Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a set of tools and approaches which are of major benefit to people in all walks of life, including business, sales, management, sport, health, education, coaching. It is a type of Brief Therapy and is part of a Positive Psychology approach. Where ever there is communication, you need NLP.
NLP is the study of human experience. It looks at patterns in individual behaviour under certain environmental conditions, such as stress, grief, fear, anxiety. It uncovers the underlying beliefs and assumptions that are leading to those patterns and negative outcomes, whether in family, community or workplace relationships. It is this insight (lightbulb moment), by the client, that brings about change.
Using thoughtful, non-judgemental questioning, NLP helps you discover how to get more of what you want in your life, and less of what you don’t want.
Based on past studies and modern techniques NLP can benefit people who:
- Feel “stuck”
- Lack self-direction
- Unsure of their life purpose
- Have difficulty making decisions
- Negative self-beliefs
- Patterns of self-sabotage
- Phobias, Fears
- Find it hard to trust others
- Have difficulty forgiving others
- Excessive emotional behaviours that do not serve them such as anger, frustration, sadness
- Trouble sleeping
- Inconsistent performance results in achieving their life goals
Ask yourself ‘Why is it, I always respond in a particular way to an event that does not work for me, and someone else responds completely differently?’
Through NLP processes you can quite quickly change your response to one that is more purposeful.
NLP works with your responses (both emotions and behaviours) such as anger, frustration, procrastination, low self-esteem. It helps you to find the pathways to how you would rather be responding and feeling. Confident, calm, in control, open to new thoughts and ideas.
