Acupuncture for Tension Headaches.

Acupuncture for Tension Headaches in Brookvale

Acupuncture for tension headaches is commonly sought by people experiencing recurring headaches related to work stress, prolonged screen use, poor posture and muscular tension.

Tension headaches are really common in desk workers, high school HSC students and Uni students, at times when they need to focus and concentrate. Easily, these people may also struggle with neck tension, stress and muscle tightness through the shoulders and jaw. In clinic, they're frequently linked together.

Patients often complain of a dull ache across the forehead, pressure behind the eyes or discomfort that gradually develops and gets worse throughout the day. They try pain relief medication that may or may not help them. This is where Acupuncture fits in, and clients on the Northern Beaches approach me for support and pain relief. Acupuncture is a good option to add to a medical plan or use as a standalone treatment when the pain is annoying, overwhelming and not easing up.

Common symptoms associated with tension headaches:

Stress and burnout can significantly contribute to headache frequency. Many people experiencing ongoing mental pressure also report poor sleep, fatigue and increased muscle tension throughout the neck, shoulders and jaw. A classic example is HSC or Uni students and office workers in high pressure jobs.

Jaw clenching and TMJ dysfunction may also contribute to recurring headache patterns. For some people the way they process their stress is by teeth grinding at night, disrupting their sleep, or even clenching their jaw during the day during busy phases. A tight Jaw may also refer pain across the face and head and exacerbate existing headaches.

Muscle relaxation is a big part of our Acupuncture treatments and Katika brings over 20 years experience of musculoskeletal therapy to the table. Muscle release, nerves and nervous system regulation is all part of what acupuncture targets to relieve pain.

Chinese herbal remedies, deeply rooted in traditional medicine, provide a natural and holistic approach to combatting bad breath. In […]
